    is one of 45 County and Tribal Coalitions of the Oregon Cultural Trust. The volunteers who serve on the Deschutes Cultural Coalition represent the various cultural areas supported by the trust: arts, humanities, history, heritage and preservation.

    Keep the arts alive in Central Oregon! Donate to the Deschutes Cultural Coalition and your support for local arts and culture will be matched multiple times through our Oregon Cultural Trust approved grant process.     MISSION STATEMENT

    The mission of the Deschutes County Historical Society is to preserve, promote and celebrate our local history. Through the Deschutes Historical Museum, we bring the community a vibrant museum and community center dedicated to education, research, and appreciation for our unique history, a living legacy that grows with each new generation. By carefully preserving tens of thousands of images, artifacts, and archival papers generated by Deschutes pioneers—of the past, present and future—we capture the important stories that celebrate our shared heritage. With every field trip, every History Pub program, and every exhibit, we get to share these stories with the community and our visitors.

    $25 supports school field trips

    $50 supports History Pub presentations

    $100 provides online access to historical photographs

    $150 purchases archival storage boxes

    $200 provides equipment for scanning and documenting historical materials

    To explore the High Desert’s unique landscape, cultures, wildlife, history and arts, connecting our visitors to the past and helping them discover their role in the present and responsibility to the future.

    WHAT CAN YOUR DONATIONS DO?

    $25 Provide art supplies for one child for Kids Curate, a year-long arts program.
    $50 Provide the Museum’s otters with a well-balanced diet for one week.
    $100 Support a local Head Start family by providing an annual family membership.
    $200 Help create innovative new exhibits that highlight the arts, cultural and
    natural history of the region.
